Liverpool stormed to yet another Premier League victory at Anfield tonight beating Newcastle 2-0 with goals from Szoboszlai & Mac Allister.
The Reds look like a well oiled machine and played some pretty slick football at times. Breaking quickly through the lines with some quick one touch two touch football mixed in with power and strength while defending a lot more as a composed unit. Two clean sheets in a row against two pretty good attacking sides is also a bonus this time of the season.
Szoboszlai scored after ten minutes. Diaz wriggled into the box and squared the ball nicely which the Hungarian slid through two defenders legs and past the keeper. Chances came and went for both sides of which we were getting the better openings.
After a slow start to the second half we grew into it and took a firm control. Mac Allister found himself free in midfield and put Mo in down the right. He took a couple of players on before t’ing up Macca to strike high into the far left hand corner for the goal of the game.
Arsenal struggled to score once more away at Forest with the game finishing 0-0 it done neither team any favours as the Londoners gave up more ground on us in the title race. While Forest are trying to get a Champions League spot. With 6 points between 3rd & 10th that will go right to the wire.
For us that table looks amazing with 10 games to go. We have a week off til we play again in the Champions League away to PSG which will be a toughie.. Then we entertain Southampton at home in the Premier League with another chance to tick of 3 more vital points as we look to win that 20th title..
